About Us

 

Kalispell Education Foundation is a local nonprofit that operates grant-making programs and coordinates educational initiatives to help enrich and elevate educational opportunities for children attending Kalispell Public Schools.

 

Position Description

 

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Program Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing all KEF related programs and associated tasks. This position is primarily responsible for KEF program/grants management, teacher outreach, and community outreach relating to our programs. This position also assists with some administrative tasks such as maintaining our donor database and ordering supplies. 

 

This part time position is 15 hours a week. The hours typically take place during school hours, with some flexibility needed for early morning, evening and weekend events. The hours, responsibilities, and workload may grow as more funding is secured in the future. The wage range is $19-$20 an hour, depending on qualifications and experience. No additional benefits are offered at this time. 

 

Location

 

Kalispell Public Schools District Office Building (not a KPS employee) and option to work remotely when possible.

 

What are we looking for? 

 

The ideal candidate will have integrity, high energy, and take initiative. The candidate should be motivated, independent, possess strong oral and written communication skills, and be passionate about public education. The candidate must have experience managing detailed projects and schedules, creating and implementing events, and communicating effectively with broad audiences. 

 

Responsibilities

 

Programs

  • Support the planning, implementation and coordination of KEF programs

  • Oversee grant software program and track grant applicants

  • Prepare program reports and share information with KEF Programs Committee

  • Create stories across multiple communications platforms that showcase the impact of KEF’s programs

  • Help build positive relationships between program recipients and KEF

  • Maintain working knowledge of KEF mission and programs

 

Administrative Support

  • Manage donor database entries and maintain database functionality 

  • Prepare and print thank you letters and donor correspondence

  • Assist in the coordination of KEF related events and campaigns

  • Monitor and restock supplies

  • Ensure board and committee meeting minutes are maintained

  • Ensure technology is used correctly for all operations (video conferencing, calendaring, presentations, events)

  • Other administrative and operational tasks as assigned

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Experience in nonprofit sector, marketing, communications, or relevant position

  • Self-motivated and eager learner - ready to dive in, ask questions, learn new systems, and get to work

  • Excellent writing skills; comfortable communicating across many platforms with multiple audiences

  • Able to work independently, meet deadlines, resolve routine problems independently, and be responsible for all aspects of a project

  • Detail-oriented, well organized and efficient - takes pride in accuracy

  • Experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Drive

  • Must be able to work some weekends/evenings

  • Respect confidentiality and appropriate release of information

  • Experience with Canva, Mailchimp, and Bloomerang

  • Experience with Meta social media platforms

  • Professional, inquisitive, and keeps informed of local news and events
